Clear diagnostic pricing, our 60-day repair labour warranty, privacy and equipment collection policies.
Effective November 6, 2026 · Ontario, Canada
1. Diagnostic Fees
Computer Repair Toronto does not offer free diagnostics. The diagnostic fee for a standard desktop computer or laptop is $100 CAD. For gaming desktops, gaming laptops, MacBooks and other Mac computers, the diagnostic fee is $120–$125 CAD, depending on the device and reported issue.
Before any diagnostic work begins, Computer Repair Toronto will inform the customer of the exact diagnostic fee and obtain their approval. The agreed diagnostic fee is fixed for that assessment: it will not increase because testing is more difficult or takes longer, even if diagnosis requires several days. Any different or additional service requires separate advance approval. Applicable taxes are additional and will be disclosed.
Diagnostic services may include hardware testing, software troubleshooting, fault identification and an assessment of repair feasibility.
If the customer approves the recommended repair and Computer Repair Toronto completes the approved repair, the diagnostic fee will be credited toward the repair labour charge. If the customer declines the repair, the agreed diagnostic fee remains payable.
Diagnostic fees are non-refundable once the agreed diagnostic service has been performed, except where required by law or otherwise agreed in writing.
2. Repair Estimates, Authorization and Customer Approval
With over 27 years of hands-on technical experience, Computer Repair Toronto is committed to providing reliable repairs, honest assessments and practical solutions.
Following the diagnostic assessment, we explain the identified problem, available repair options and proposed cost. Where appropriate, we may recommend component-level repair, replacement of defective parts, motherboard replacement or an alternative solution that better serves the customer's needs and budget.
No repair work beyond the authorized diagnostic service will begin without the customer's approval of the proposed repair and its cost. Customer approval may be provided by SMS, email, WhatsApp or written or signed authorization. Computer Repair Toronto maintains appropriate records of approvals.
Once the customer authorizes the repair, Computer Repair Toronto may proceed with the agreed work, including technician time and approved replacement parts.
When the authorized repair has been successfully completed according to the agreed scope, the customer is responsible for paying the full approved repair amount. A change of mind after completion does not, by itself, cancel this payment obligation or entitle the customer to demand removal of installed components without charge.
If the customer requests cancellation before completion, any applicable charges will reflect authorized work performed and properly disclosed and agreed costs, subject to Ontario law.
If additional work or charges are needed, Computer Repair Toronto will explain them and obtain the customer's approval before proceeding. Our priority is a technically sound, cost-effective solution rather than unnecessary repairs or replacement parts.
Nothing in these terms limits any statutory cancellation, refund, warranty or other consumer rights under applicable Ontario law.
3. Transparent Pricing – No Hidden Charges
Computer Repair Toronto is committed to honest, fair and transparent pricing.
Once a repair price has been quoted and approved, no additional charges will be imposed for the agreed scope of work.
Additional charges will only apply when:
- The customer requests additional services or work outside the original agreement; or
- Previously unidentified technical problems require additional work beyond the original authorized scope.
In either situation, Computer Repair Toronto will explain the additional work, communicate the proposed cost and obtain the customer's approval before proceeding.
We do not perform unauthorized repairs or impose undisclosed service charges.
Our commitment is to provide fair, reasonable and competitive pricing while maintaining professional service standards.
4. Our 60-Day Repair Labour Warranty
We take pride in the quality of our workmanship and stand behind our repairs.
Computer Repair Toronto provides a 60-day limited labour warranty on eligible completed hardware repairs. The warranty begins when the completed repair is made available for collection.
If the same problem directly related to our original repair returns within 60 days, we will assess the device and correct any covered workmanship issue at no additional labour charge.
Our standard warranty generally applies to hardware repair workmanship. Software-related services, including operating system installation, virus removal, software configuration and troubleshooting, do not normally include a continuing warranty against future software problems, except where a separate written warranty has been purchased or agreed upon.
Replacement parts are covered according to their applicable warranty terms, as explained in Section 5.
New or unrelated failures, accidental damage, misuse, liquid damage, power surges or unauthorized modifications are not covered by the standard repair labour warranty.
Nothing in this policy limits any consumer rights or remedies that cannot legally be excluded under Ontario law.
5. Replacement Parts and Manufacturer Warranties
Replacement parts may be new, refurbished, used or aftermarket components, depending on availability and customer approval.
The type and condition of replacement parts will be disclosed before installation.
Parts warranty coverage varies depending on the manufacturer, supplier and specific component.
Any applicable manufacturer or supplier warranty, including its duration and conditions, will be communicated to the customer where available.
Nothing in this section limits any legal responsibility or statutory warranty that Computer Repair Toronto is required to provide.
6. Customer Privacy and Confidentiality
Computer Repair Toronto respects customer privacy and treats personal and business information as confidential.
We understand that computers and electronic devices may contain sensitive personal, financial, professional and business information.
Our privacy practices include:
- Accessing customer information only to the extent reasonably necessary to perform authorized services.
- Taking reasonable precautions to protect customer files and information.
- Not knowingly accessing, using or disclosing customer information for unrelated purposes without appropriate authorization or another lawful basis.
- Taking reasonable measures to protect customer data against unauthorized access, use or disclosure.
- Handling personal information in accordance with applicable privacy legislation, including PIPEDA where applicable.
Customers are strongly encouraged to back up important information before submitting equipment for diagnostics or repair.
Computer Repair Toronto takes reasonable care when handling customer equipment; however, data preservation or recovery cannot be guaranteed, particularly where storage devices are damaged or failing.
Nothing in this policy excludes liability for privacy breaches or other matters where liability cannot legally be excluded.
7. Payment and Equipment Collection
We ask customers to collect their equipment within 60 calendar days after being notified that the diagnostic assessment or repair has been completed.
Our goal is always to provide reliable service and maintain clear communication with our customers.
Any outstanding charges for approved services, together with applicable taxes, remain payable. Payment is due before equipment is released unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Uncollected equipment will be handled in accordance with our Uncollected and Unclaimed Equipment Policy and applicable Ontario law. We do not impose automatic storage charges under these terms.
8. Uncollected and Unclaimed Equipment
Customers are responsible for collecting their equipment and settling outstanding authorized charges.
If equipment remains uncollected for more than 60 calendar days after notification, Computer Repair Toronto may issue additional reminders and formal written notices.
Failure to collect equipment within 60 days does not automatically transfer ownership to Computer Repair Toronto and does not independently authorize the sale, recycling, donation or disposal of customer property.
Computer Repair Toronto reserves the right to exercise any legally available rights concerning outstanding charges, possession and repair or storage liens, where applicable, under Ontario law, including the Repair and Storage Liens Act, R.S.O. 1990, c. R.25.
Any sale or other disposition of uncollected equipment must comply with applicable legislation, including all required waiting periods, notices and statutory procedures.
Recycling or disposal will only occur with the owner's separate express authorization or another legally established basis.
9. Customer Contact Information and Communication
Customers must provide accurate contact information and notify Computer Repair Toronto of any changes.
Computer Repair Toronto may contact customers by telephone, email, SMS or WhatsApp regarding:
- Diagnostic results.

10. Applicable Law and Consumer Rights
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Ontario and applicable federal laws of Canada.
Nothing in these terms is intended to waive, restrict or exclude any consumer rights, statutory warranties, legal remedies or protections that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.
